About Mx. Asher (they/them)

Mx. Asher (they/them) is a Rhode Island based spoken word artist and memoirist known for vulnerable storytelling exploring themes of community, current events, love, and power. Asher’s work reconciles their lived experience as a neurodivergent, transgender sexual assault survivor and former sex worker with their twenty-year career in government, elections, and advocacy. Born and raised twenty minutes from Mar-A-Lago and Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion, they are currently using their art to process the exploitation of their community.

Mx. Asher was voted Motif RI’s 2026 Favorite Personal Storyteller and runner-up in Social Justice Spoken Word. Asher’s work has been published in Writers Resist, Discretionary Love, new words press - citizen trans* {project}: voices in trump america, and Unlikely Stories. They have performed at events such as PRONK!, Trans Day of Visibility, Warren Folks Fest, and more.

They organize ROOTED PVD, a monthly LGBTQIA+ artist community care open mic in RI.
